Zoning Board of Adjustment

About Us

The Zoning Board of Adjustment hears appeals from any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative town official and administers special provisions in the ordinance dealing with variances and special exceptions such as the denial of a building permit by the Building Inspector or to appeal a zoning enforcement issue made by the Board of Selectmen. The Board of Adjustment was established to provide for the satisfactory resolution of many situations so as not to burden the courts.
